What makes your dressups special?
 
Quality and comfort! Moms love our quality. Kids love the comfort of our dressups. We sell nothing with itchy fabrics or underskirts. They are beautiful enough for special events but do not leave a trail of glitter everywhere.
 
Our dressups are high quality and durable. Our dresses have no Velcro or zippers to snag the fabric-and they are MACHINE WASHABLE, not just "wipe clean" like some of the big box stores. (How do you wipe clean apple juice?!)
 
There are no buttons or ties to frustrate little fingers. They are made of soft, stretchy materials so dresses stretch to fit over their heads like their favorite shirt.

Are your dressups hot?
 

We really don't think so. My daughter wears hers in August, and she sweats no more than I do. Orlando weather is nearly identical to Houston. We believe most can be worn year round in Orlando because:

  • They are very lightweight
  • Dresses with thin, durable, crushed velvet bodices breathe well
    (Our daughter has comfortably worn the long sleeve Ice Princess to her brother's hour-long 95 degree practice, while reading a book under an umbrella)
  • If you ride a water ride, the dress will dry quicker than her hair
  • We get lots of feedback from customers going to Disney in warmer months that their daughters were still in their dresses by the end of the day while others in their group changed out of them.

Do your doll dresses fit on Bitty Babies?
 
Yes, while our doll dresses are specifically made for 18" American Girls dolls they are stretchy and will fit many other dolls and stuffed animals including Cabbage Patch, Duffy and Bitty Baby dolls. (we pulled up the skirt on one side to show you where the hem hits on the Bitty Baby)

Do I need a fullness slip?

We love the extra poof the Fullness Slip offers without uncomfortable bulk.  (It also REALLY ups the twirl factor)! Our Fullness Slip is VERY lightweight (only a few ounces) and folds up flat (no crazy hoops here!) and could fit in a backpack or purse very easily.

What are your Shipping Policies?

Orders will typically ship same or next business day.  We pride ourselves in quick and efficient shipping.

USPS Priority Mail is our preferred method of shipping.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, weights may be rounded up to the next full pound.

Preorders: 
If you are purchasing regular instock items in the same transaction, the entire purchase will be held until the pre-ordered portion is ready to ship. If you would like instock items to ship immediately, please complete 2 transactions.

 

US Domestic Shipping  (including PO boxes and APO addresses):

USPS First Class delivers in an average of 3-8 days business days (Mon.-Sat.) once it has shipped. Average shipping times increase just before Christmas.

USPS Priority: (Our preferred method of shipping) 
delivers in  2-3 business days (Mon.-Sat.) not guaranteed but very reliable) once it has shipped.

 

FedEX 2 Day: Guaranteed to deliver in 2 business days (Monday-Friday) If Saturday delivery is required, contact us either via chat, email or phone to arrange for an additional charge.

 

International Shipping:

Our store is set up to automatically calculate shipping and process orders for over 25 countries such as Canada, the UK, France, Australia, New Zealand, Bermuda and South Africa. If your country is not set up please Contact Us to discuss additional international ordering options. 

USPS International Priority: delivers in an average of 12-15 business days once shipped.  Average shipping times increase just before Christmas.

USPS International Express: typically delivers in 4-6 business days once shipped.

Notes on International Shipments: There are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to other international destinations.  We will not mark any items as a "gift" on customs forms.  Any customs or duties charged by your country are your responsibility. Tracking is limited for some countries once the package leaves the U.S.

Mom Approved Tip: If you are purchasing for a trip to Disney, it may more cost effective to have your order sent directly to your hotel using domestic rates. Please click here for more details.

Orders with pre-order items:

Your order will ship in one shipment.  If you would like your instock items sooner than your pre-orders there will be an additional shipping charge. Please Contact Us for this service.  ***All pre-orders ship dates are estimated in the item detail at the time of order***

Local pickup:

Local pickup is currently not available. 

 
What are your Return/Exchange Policies?
Most new, unopened items are eligible for Return/Exchange within 30 days of purchase if: 
  • the tags are still attached
  • the items are in resellable condition
  • the style is still available for sale on our website (not discontinued)
If the item meets these standards, please email christy@momapprovedcostumes.com to arrange a return. 
Refunds for items returned within thirty days of the purchase date will be credited in the same form as the original payment type. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly.
This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).  The original shipping and handling charges are not refundable.   For orders over $80 there will be a 15% restocking fee.
Do your dresses have a Quality Guarantee?
Mom Tested.  Mom Approved. Mom Guaranteed.
 
If you should have a problem with one of our products, please don't hesitate to Contact Us. We want to know about anything that concerns you.  Any concern is important and is usually not normal--please let us take care of it!
 
All items carried in our store are MOM TESTED. MOM APPROVED.  They have been tested by our own children and friends and we would NEVER sell anything we would not put our own children in.  In order to be carried by our store, an item MUST be  proven to be durable and long-lasting in use and appearance.

Are there any special washing instructions?
 
We only sell items that are machine washable- Most will be "machine wash gentle" and line dry. Make sure you follow the washing instructions on the tag. A "no heat" setting in the dryer is fine as well but to keep metallic trims beautiful, you need to protect them from heat. Make sure not to wash/dry them with any other items that have Velcro as velcro will snag the fabric in the washer.

We have personally washed costumes at a WDW Resort and it was dry overnight to wear again at the park the next day!

How do I get the wrinkles out?
 
Your items are shipped folded and will arrive with some wrinkles. So here's some options to get wrinkles out:

Wash the item and let it line dry. You should have a pretty smooth dress up. If there are still a few wrinkles you can fluff it in the dryer just for a few minutes. Be careful not to let dresses with metallic trims get too hot in order to prevent damage. 

If you want to iron the dressup, use a warm iron but do not leave it sitting in one spot. Even the sheer overlays of our deluxe dresses can be ironed on a low setting. Do NOT iron fabric that has screen printed metallic designs.

We have found that downy wrinkle release works pretty well too.
 
Can you ship to my resort?
 
Absolutely!  Just make sure to choose the Priority Mail or FedEX 2 Day option.  For Priority Mail, allow 3-4 business days for travel and distribution time, as the package will have to go through the Mickey Mailroom. If FedEX 2 day or overnight is chosen, packages will be delivered directly to resort concierge.
-Change the Shipping Address to your Resort Address
-At checkout, in the comments please let us know which resort, your day of arrival, and whose name the hotel reservation is under (it must match exactly)!
