Returns & Exchanges

Return/Exchange Policy

Most new, unworn Mom Approved Costumes items are eligible for return or exchange if: 

  • the original tags are still attached (not re-tagged)
  • the items are clean and in resellable condition 
  • the style is still available for sale on our website (not discontinued)
  • within 30 days of customer receipt of the item


If a return is requested and your request meets the above standards, please log on to your account and fill out a return/exchange form. When approved a refund will be issued in the same form as the original payment type for the actual purchase price. Any promo or coupon code values will be forfeited. Original shipping charges are not refundable. You are responsible for payment of shipping charges of the items back to Mom Approved Costumes. For orders over $100 there may be a 15% restocking fee.


Sometimes little ones change their minds on which dress they wanted or they grow an inch overnight, so we try to make changes as easy as possible to help you get exactly what you need to have fun! If you require an exchange, simply fill out the Return/Exchange request form and we will contact you with the next steps. You will be responsible for shipping the item back to us and for the reshipment, but sometimes we can help you with labels to avoid a trip to the post office!

If you need an exchange right away due to an upcoming Disney trip, birthday, holiday or event, it may be best to place a new order and do a return of the original items.


Please fill out our Return/Exchange Request form and we will contact you with the next steps. To start your return or exchange simply follow the following steps:

1. Click "Log In" or "My Account"

2. Click "View Order Status"

3. Click "Completed" to see all completed orders

4. On the right side of the screen click "Return Items"

5. Select items you would like to return/exchange with the reason for return/exchange and any comments.

6. Submit your return request!



While defects are extremely rare, they can happen. Our dressups are guaranteed against MANUFACTURER defects.

If you believe one of our items is defective, please fill out the Return/Exchange form and choose the Manufacturer defect option.

We will be requesting a clear photo of the defect and a picture of the front and back of the tag at the neck. If a determination is made the flaw is due to a manufacturing defect, a replacement or refund will be issued.  

Please note replacements will not be issued for normal wear and tear or improper washing/drying/ironing.
